Online Shipment Management System
The Client
Freedom Foods is a US based company engaged in merchandise of food products particularly in the Middle East. They are engaged in procurement and shipment of Food products for their overseas customers.

Pre solution Situation

In the Gulf region, Qatar office of Freedom foods receives Purchase orders from the Public Warehousing Company (PWC) based in Kuwait. PWC is a company that provides warehousing solutions and supply chain services to local, regional, and multinational customers. The Qatar office of freedom foods receives, processes the order and prepares a new purchase orders and sends it to the US office. US office receives the orders and procures the food materials as per the needs mentioned and ships the required quantity of food items to the Middle East. All these activities were carried out manually, and the manual transactions, consumed a lion’s share of the productive time. Delays in order processing were a common issue.

Client’s Concern

Manual transactions, huge paper works and poor communication within the supply chain was a constant source of agony not only for freedom foods but also their customers. There was not a viable method available for tracking the progress of a particular order. Transaction costs exceeded all limits and processing delays transformed into a constant headache for the client.

Solution
Aufait designed an online shipment management System for the process automation of the client, after studying in detail every minute requirements of the client. This System helps in sharing and tracking complete data regarding the shipment between the supply chain partners located in USA and Qatar. This process automation system or vendor management system, provides user-friendly interface for authorized users from USA, Qatar and Kuwait.

Qatar Interface
Aufait’s Online Shipment Management eliminated the tedious manual paper works from the Qatar office of Freedom foods. Now, an authorized user can directly prepare purchase orders online as the PWC orders are received. The USA office can view the order in real time and can start processing the order at once. Qatar users also have the provision of adding new products and suppliers to their database. They can also edit the data entered. Above all, there is a provision for tracking the shipment details on a real time basis.

USA Interface
In the USA office, the procurement process attained a high pace as the purchase orders are received on a real time basis. They can upload shipment details of a particular purchase order so that the Qatar and Kuwait people can view it, on a real time basis.

Kuwait Interface
In the PWC office in Kuwait, who are the ultimate consumers in this supply chain, can keep constant tracking of their purchase orders just by logging on to the process automation system. They can also have a perusal of the available products.
